Homeowners commonly test for coliform and E. coli bacteria, indicators that disease-causing bacteria, viruses and parasites are in your drinking and swimming water.

NEL test kits can be used to monitor any water source on your property to detect indicators of disease and contamination.

There are many tests available at Northeast Laboratory Services upon request, but the two most common are the Full Residential and Basic Safety Testing Kits.

Often times, a Residential water test is required prior to mortgage approval in the state of Maine. The test must pass certain water safety standards in order to get approved.
