If you are having any concerns about your home water make sure to have it tested. From basic coliform bacteria testing to the more advanced microbiological and chemical testing, we do it all.
Order one of our water testing kits, send back your water samples and within a few days you will know the quality of your water.
For testing of non-drinking water such as pool water, pond water or recreational water, look under our environmental testing section.

Basic Water Testing Services (Results available within 1 business day of receiving the water to be tested) |
| Mortgage Approval / Conventional Test |
This is the most common test requested by homeowners, and it is the most comprehensive group of tests for determining drinkability
of your well water. The following tests are performed as part of this package:
- PH
- Chloride
- Hardness
- Nitrates/Nitrites
|
- Copper
- Iron
- Manganese
- Coliform / E.Coli
|
- Lead
- Arsenic
- Sodium
- Fluoride
|
If you suspect a specific toxin such as lead or mercury, you should call the lab to discuss. For more detailed information on these components
you can view our "Water Analyses Interpretation" sheets, found at the bottom of this page.
|
|
| Coliform / E. Coli | This is most commonly tested to determine if you have coliforms, which are naturally present in the environment. E. Coli, a type of coliform, is only present in human and animal fecal waste. Testing for coliforms and more specifically E. Coli, will indicate if you have possible septic or sewage contamination in your well.
We would recommend this test if you had the Mortgage Approval Test done in the past and you want to know if you have coliform bacteria in your water. |
| Specific Water Testing Services |
| First Draw Lead | This is most commonly tested from older homes with lead solder used on the pipes. It is usually not naturally occurring. |
|
| Fluoride | This is most commonly tested to prevent over or under exposure to the chemical in children requiring fluoride for dental development. |
|
| Iron Bacteria | This is most commonly tested for if brown staining appears on fixtures and is slimy to the touch. |
|
| Radon | This is most commonly tested for in areas where there are large amounts of granite or ledge or during new construction. |
|
| Others | Many other testing options are available. Please contact NEL for more information at 1-800-244-8378. |
